Description
Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians address issues such as living a godly life even in a corrupt culture, being unified as one body without competition, maintaining the priority of sexual and moral purity within the church, understanding more completely the role of spiritual gifts in the context of the church, embracing love as the greatest virtue that must live within their hearts, maintaining orderly worship with proper respect toward one another, and keeping the hope of the resurrection burning brightly in their hearts. This instructive book contains many wonderful teachings that Paul gave to the young church that will impact your life as well.

Second Corinthians is one of the most personal and intimate of all of Paul’s epistles. He opened his heart to the church of Corinth, told them secrets of his miracle encounters with Jesus, and instructed them how to live in one continual triumph after another.

For now we see but a faint reflection of riddles and mysteries as though reflected in a mirror, but one day we will see face to face. My understanding is incomplete now, but one day I will understand everything just as everything about me has been fully understood. And until then, there are three things which remain: faith, hope, and love—yet love surpasses them all. So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run! 1 CORINTHIANS 13:12–13

Author: DR. BRIAN SIMMONS is known as a passionate lover of God. After a dramatic conversion to Christ, Brian knew that God was calling him to go to the unreached people of the world and present the gospel of God’s grace to all who would listen. With his wife Candice and their three children, he spent nearly eight years in the tropical rain forest of the Darien Province of Panama as a church planter, translator, and consultant. Brian was involved in the Paya-Kuna New Testament translation project and studied linguistics and Bible translation principles with New Tribes Mission. Brian is now working to complete a new translation of the Scripture from the ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.
